I grew up on a farm in the Eastern Cape before attending the University of Port Elizabeth. I spent 14 years as a professional cricketer before beginning my career in short-term insurance. I worked at NFB Insurance for 17 years as a director and shareholder in Sales & Marketing.

Afterward, I moved to the UK, where I set up a business that is now managed by my family, before returning home two and a half years later. I joined Strata Insurance Brokers in May 2024, where I now work in Marketing & Sales.
